Cindy Okpegbue had 13 kills, but Coppin State lost to UMBC 25-15, 25-16, 25-14 in the Eagles final match of the 2013 Maddie Bingaman Tournament on Saturday at UMBC.
Sophomore Kandace Thomas recorded a career-high 14 kills and Coppin State rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat St. Francis (Pa.) 14-25, 25-12, 19-25, 25-17, 15-7 on Saturday at the Maddie Bingaman Tournament at UMBC.
Sophomore Cindy Okpegbue had 10 kills and Coppin State opened the Maddie Bingaman Tournament with a 25-19, 25-22, 25-19 victory over Loyola (Md.) on Friday in the Retrievers Activities Center on the campus of UMBC.
Ariel Richard had nine kills and Cindy Okpegbue and Denali Sturgeon each had five kills, but American spoiled Coppin State's home opener with a 25-18, 25-8, 25-15 non-conference victory over the Eagles on Wednesday in the Physical Education Complex.
The Coppin State volleyball team will host American in its home opener on Wednesday (Sept. 11) at 7 p.m. in the Physical Education Complex.
