
The Coppin State baseball team was selected to finish seventh in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference preseason poll as selected by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced the suspension of six student-athletes resulting from an altercation following the North Carolina A&T State at Coppin State women’s basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 29.

Coppin State men's basketball head coach Ron "Fang" Mitchell will appear on the nationally syndicated weekly radio program From the Press Box to Press Row on Saturday.

Junior Paige Arnold was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year and senior Jade Dudley was named to the preseason first team, while Coppin State was chosen to finish fourth in the preseason poll as voted upon by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

With the 2011 Coppin State University softball season quickly approaching, head coach Larry Hineline announced that junior pitcher Paige Arnold and senior catcher Amber Miller will serve as captains for the 2011 season.

Coppin State's Antonio Williams was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week the league announced on Monday.
