Coppin State freshman Taariq Cephas has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week the conference office announced on Monday.
The Coppin State women's track and field team opened its 2011-12 season by winning the Bow-Tie Track Classic hosted by Ursinus College and seven Eagles won individual titles on Saturday.
