Eagles Usher in Basketball Season with Midnight Madness
October 12, 2009BALTIMORE -- The Coppin State men's and women's basketball teams will officially begin the 2009-10 season by hosting Midnight Madness in the Coppin Center on Friday (Oct. 16).
A full slate of activities, including President Reginald Avery addressing the crowd, are planned for Midnight Madness including student activities and the introduction of the men's and women's basketball teams.
Both the men's and women's teams will conduct a brief layup line following the introduction of the teams.
A three-point shooting contest, a dunk contest and performances by the Dancing Divas and the Coppin State cheerleaders are just some of the scheduled activities.
In addition to the basketball teams, all of the Coppin State student-athletes will be introduced as part of the ceremonies.
The Coppin State men's and women's teams will each open the season on Nov. 13 in the Coppin State Classic. The women's team will host West Virginia State at 5:30 p.m. and the men will face Lincoln (Pa.) at 7:30 p.m.

10 p.m. - Coppin State Cheerleaders
10:10 p.m. - Dancing Divas performance
10:15 p.m. - Student three-point contest
10:25 p.m. - Student slam dunk contest
10:35 p.m. - Coppin State model's presentation
10:40 p.m. - The Main Attraction performance
10:50 p.m. - Greek stroll competition
