McKee Tabbed as Preseason Mid-Major All-America
November 06, 2008BALTIMORE -- Coppin State senior Tywain McKee has been named to the collegeinsider.com preseason mid-major All-America team as chosen by selected National Basketball Association scouts and Division I head coaches.
McKee was one of 25 players selected to the team and it marks the second straight season he has received the preseason honor. He was also selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player at the conclusion of the 2007-08 season by collegeinsider.com.
McKee, who was chosen as the 2008-09 MEAC preseason Player of the Year, led the Eagles into the NCAA Tournament last season after averaging 16.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
The Eagles will open the season on Nov. 14 against Cheyney in an exhibition game at 7:30 p.m. in the Coppin Center.
