Coppin State's seven straight wins marks its longest such streak since the 1998-99 season.
Coppin State (11-19, 6-8 MEAC) shot 56.5 percent from the floor in the first half on its way to a 39-26 advantage at the intermission.
Howard (5-23, 2-11 MEAC) shot only 30.4 percent from the floor for the game and made only six second-half field goals.
Coppin State never trailed in the game and after Howard tied the game at 2-2 the Eagles went on a 14-4 run to take a 16-6 lead with 11:02 remaining in the period.
The Eagles took their largest lead of the first half on a layup by Conyers with four seconds remaining, but Eugene Myatt drilled a three-pointer at the buzzer to cut the lead to 39-26 at the break.
A layup by Randy Hampton cut the Coppin State margin to 40-30 with 18:13 left in the game, but that would be as close as the Bison would get.
The Eagles used an 8-0 run to take their largest lead of the contest at 62-38 with 6:13 remaining in the game.
