capped an outstanding performance at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships by scoring in the pentathlon and the triple jump on the final day of competition on Saturday at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex.
Baird scored 21 of the Eagles 33.5 points during the two-day meet and placed in three different events. Baird's 21 points was the third-most scored by any competitor behind only Merrecia James (35 pts) and Tanisha Wisdom (25 pts) of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Led by Baird, Coppin State finished eighth overall with 33.5 points. Maryland Eastern Shore and Hampton shared the team title with 92 points each.
Baird began the day by finishing third in the pentathlon with 3,374 points. Cuquie Melville of Delaware State won the event with 3,450 points and Racquel Vassell of Hampton was second with 3,424 points.
She capped her meet by finishing fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 38-9.50.
placed third in the pole vault as she cleared 7-3, and Indira Laurencin
earned the Eagles other point by finishing eighth in the 400 meters in 57.75.
