George Washington Slugs Way Past Coppin State 14-0
May 03, 2007WASHINGTON, D.C. -- George Washington slugged four home runs and Amanda Gabriel and Carrie Higdon combined on a two-hit shutout leading the Colonials to a 14-0 victory over Coppin State in non-conference softball action at Mount Vernon Complex.
Gabriel pitched three innings of no-hit softball and struck out seven and Higdon allowed two hits in two innings while striking out five.
Caroline Howe, Amanda Holst, Lily Rogers and Kaity Harbour each homered for the Colonials who improved to 22-24 with the victory.
Coppin State, who dropped to 0-27 on the season, received hits from Keshia Robinson and Francesca Guy.
George Washington held a 6-0 lead after three innings, but exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
