Epps Earns Recognition on USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

July 26, 2012
BALTIMORE -- Coppin State's Christina Epps was named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic team today.

Epps was one of six Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference student-athletes, and 676 student-athletes nationwide, recognized by the USTFCCCA for their academic achievement. It marks the second consecutive year that Epps has been named to the all-academic team.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the criteria for the indoor or outdoor season. For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the top 48 in a relay event. For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Championship.

Epps qualified for the team by virtue of been ranked among the top 96 in the nation in the triple jump for the indoor season. She currently has a 3.46 grade-point average in psychology.
