Johnston, Simmons Honored by NTCA
July 11, 2012BALTIMORE -- Coppin State's Loren Johnston and Stephanie Simmons each received all-academic recognition from the National Tenpin Coaches Association as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
Johnston and Simmons were one of 140 student-athletes honored for the academic achievements during the 2011-12 academic year. To qualify for the team, a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.40 grade-point average for the year.
Johnson, a junior, was the Eagles top bowler last season as she averaged 170.8 per game and posted a high game of 224.
Simmons, a sophomore, finished the season with a 138.4 average with a high game of 198.
The NTCA also honored a total of 15 student-athletes on its first, second and third teams based upon a combination of athletic and academic accomplishments.
