Devilme Signs With Coppin State Baseball Program
July 10, 2012BALTIMORE -- Jhar Devilme has signed a letter of intent to attend Coppin State University and play baseball for the Eagles announced head coach Sherman Reed on Tuesday.
Devilme graduated from Copperas Cove High School in Copperas Cove, Texas and will enroll at Coppin State in the fall of 2012.
"Jhar will add to our pitching depth by giving us another left-handed pitcher who can give us valuable innings out of the bullpen," said Reed. "After having pitched in a very competitive 5A high school in Texas he won't wilt under the pressures that usually come with the Division I level."
Devilme compiled a 2-7 overall record, but posted a 3.48 earned run average for Copperas Cove. He also struck out 80 batters in 62.1 innings pitched.
He earned first team all-district honors as a senior in baseball and also competed in cross country and basketball.
