-- Ashley Milo has signed a letter of intent to attend Coppin State University and play women's tennis for the Eagles announced head coach Diwani Lewis
Milo attended Varina High School in Henrico, Va., and will enroll at Coppin State in the fall of 2012.
"Ashley brings a lot to my program," said Lewis. "She is an excellent all-around player. She plays smart tennis and uses the whole court. Having her on the team will be a breath of fresh air and I'm really happy she signed with Coppin State."
Milo had an outstanding senior season for the Blue Devils. She paired with Toni McDonald to win the Capital District doubles championship, which marked the first time in school history that Varina had captured a tennis title. She also advanced to the Capital District singles championship match becoming the first Varina player to ever reach the finals.
She also advanced to the Virginia High School League regional tournament and made the quarterfinals of the Central Region girls tennis championships.
