La Salle Bests Coppin State in Non-Conference Match

PHILADELPHIA -- Freshman Ariel Richard posted her fifth consecutive double-figure kill match with 15 kills against La Salle, but the Eagles lost to the Explorers 25-16, 34-32, 25-21 in a non-conference match on Wednesday in Tom Gola Arena.
 
Richard, who has also reached double figures in kills in nine of the last 11 matches, added seven digs for the Eagles.
 
Vanity Massey added nine kills and seven digs, while Christina Epps had seven kills and three blocks.
 
Coppin State (5-23) also recieved 17 digs from freshman Gabrielle Otero and 12 digs from senior Tyler Phillips. Junior setter Kristine Bindule had 27 assists and nine digs.
 
La Salle (6-25) was led by Jacquelyn Mitrovich who had 14 kills. Samantha Tulskie had 21 digs and Kelly Scanlon added 20 digs for the Explorers.
 
Coppin State will conclude its season on Sunday (Nov. 13) when it hosts Howard at 3 p.m. in the Physical Education Complex.
