Hampton Beats Coppin State 25-11, 25-20, 25-17
October 10, 2010HAMPTON, Va. -- Ashley Saunders had a match-high 10 kills, but Coppin State dropped its second straight match with a 25-11, 25-20, 25-17 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference loss to Hampton on Sunday at Holland Hall.
Hampton (5-17, 1-1 MEAC) rolled to the victory by posting a .345 hitting percentage for the match, while the Eagles were held to an .011 attack percentage.
Aaryn Harrison led the Pirates with nine kills, while Sheileen Pagan added eight kills.
Saunders posted her sixth consecutive double-figure kill match and also added four digs, a block and a service ace.
Alexandria Malesick added five kills and a block and Vanity Massey had three kills and 10 digs.
The Eagles will return to action on Friday (Oct. 15) when it hosts Morgan State at 6:30 p.m. in the Physical Education Complex.
