Eagles Fall in Battle With UMBC
April 14, 2010BALTIMORE -- Amanda Fefel homered and pitched three hitless innings leading UMBC to a 4-0 victory over Coppin State in a non-conference game on Wednesday at the UMBC Softball Stadium.
Fefel finished the game 2-of-4 with two runs batted in and pitched three hitless innings with four strikeouts.
Stephanie Weigman pitched the final four innings and allowed only one hit and struck out four batters to pick up the victory.
Stephanie Watts posted the Eagles only hit on the afternoon as she finished the game 1-for-2.
Tiffani Whaley went the distance for Coppin State as she allowed eight hits and four runs while striking out three.
Coppin State will return to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play this weekend as it hosts Delaware State on Saturday and Sunday. The Eagles and Hornets will play a doubleheader beginning at noon on Saturday and a single game beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
