
One day after having its school-record winning streak snapped, Coppin State returned to form and defeated Arcadia 6-2 on Saturday at Captain Field on the campus of Christopher Newport in the second day of action in the Lady Pirate Tournament.

Despite hitting four home runs Coppin State had its six-game winning streak snapped at the hands of Hampton on the opening day of play at the Lady Pirate Classic on Friday.

Kevin White scored 23 points, including the final eight points of the game, leading sixth-seeded Maryland Eastern Shore to a 64-58 victory over Coppin State in the quarterfinals of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Senior Harry Williams laced a bases loaded walk-off single that scored two runs and lifted Coppin State to an 11-10 victory over Virginia State propelling the Eagles to a doubleheader sweep of the Trojans on Tuesday at the Bachman Sports Complex.

Paige Arnold was 6-for-7 with four runs batted in and picked up the victory on the mound in the first game leading the Coppin State softball team to a doubleheader sweep of Bowie State on Tuesday at the Bachman Sports Complex.

Whitney Wiley scored 17 points and Tiara Knotts added 13 points leading eighth-seeded South Carolina State to a 54-49 victory over ninth-seeded Coppin State in the opening round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
