MEAC Volleyball Tournament

 
Welcome to the official website of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference volleyball championship. Coppin State is proud to be serving as the host for the tournament and hope that the information below enchances your championship experience.
 
Schedule
Thursday, November 17
Team practices from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Coaches meeting in the Physical Education Complex in room 258 on the concourse level at 5 p.m.
 
Friday, November 18
Match 1 - No. 2 South South Carolina State vs. No. 3 North Hampton, 10 a.m.
Match 2 - No. 1 North Maryland Eastern Shore vs. No. 4 South North Carolina Central, 1 p.m.
Match 3 - No. 1 South Florida A&M vs. No. 4 North Howard, 4 p.m.
Match 4 - No. 2 North Morgan State vs. No. 3 South Bethune-Cookman, 7 p.m.
 
Saturday, November 19
Match 5 - Winner of match No. 1 vs. winner of match No. 2, 12 p.m.
Match 6 - Winner of match No. 3 vs. winner of match No. 4, 3:30 p.m.
 
Sunday, November 20
Match 7 - Winner of match No. 5 vs. winner of match No. 6, 12 p.m.
 
Sports Medicine
An athletic training area will be available for student-athletes during the tournament. The medical area is located on the first floor of the Physical Education Complex under the supervision of Coppin State athletic trainer John Lopez. Media Credentials
To request media credentials, or to receive information regarding the tournament, please contact Sahar Abdur-Rashid at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference office at 757-416-7100 or [email protected]. Credential applications will also be available online at www.MEACsports.com. Approved credential requests will be available for pick up each day (Nov. 18-20) one hour prior to the first match at a location to be determined.
 
Lodging
The Tremont Plaza Hotel is the official headquarters for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference volleyball tournament. Located in downtown Baltimore, the Tremont Plaza Hotel is just minutes from the Inner Harbor and within walking distance of exciting shopping and dining locales. Contact the Tremont Plaza Hotel at 410-727-2222 and ask for the special MEAC volleyball tournament rate.
 
Direction to Coppin State University and the Physical Education Complex
From the North
Take I-95 South to Baltimore Beltway 695 West (to Towson); take I-695 West to I-83 South (Exit 23); take I-83 South to North Avenue West (Exit 6); turn right onto North Avenue and follow approximately two miles; campus will be on the right. Turn right onto Warwick Avenue and proceed to the corner of Warwick Avenue and Gwynns Falls Parkway. The Physical Education Complex is located on the left.
From the West
Take I-70 to I-695 (Exit 16 to Glen Burnie); take I-695 to US 40 (Exit 15E to Baltimore); take US 40 to Hilton Street North; follow Hilton Street and take a right onto North Avenue; follow North Avenue five lights (3/4 mile); after the fifth light, you will see the Coppin State campus just ahead on the left. Turn left onto Warwick Avenue and proceed to the corner of Warwick Avenue and Gwynns Falls Parkway. The Physical Education Complex is located on the left.
From the East
Take US 40 to I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) North (Exit 35); take I-695 to I-95 South (Exit 33); take I-95 and follow to Caton Avenue; take the Caton Avenue North exit (exit 50B) and follow Caton Avenue; at the third light, get in the lefthand lane and veer left onto Hilton Parkway; at the eighth light from I-95 (3 miles), take a right onto North Avenue; follow North Avenue five lights (3/4 mile); after the fifth light, you will see the Coppin State campus just ahead on the left. Turn left onto Warwick Avenue and proceed to the corner of Warwick Avenue and Gwynns Falls Parkway. The Physical Education Complex is located on the left.
From the South
Take I-95 North. From I-95, take the Caton Avenue North exit (Exit 50B), which is the first exit past the Beltway; follow Caton Avenue, and at the third light, get in the lefthand lane and veer left onto Hilton Parkway; at the eighth light from I-95 (3 miles), take a right onto North Avenue; follow North Avenue five lights (3/4 mile); after the fifth light, you will see the Coppin State campus just ahead on the left. Turn left onto Warwick Avenue and proceed to the corner of Warwick Avenue and Gwynns Falls Parkway. The Physical Education Complex is located on the left.
By Air
Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is approximately 20 minutes south of campus just outside the Beltway (695). To get to Coppin State from the airport, take 195 west to I-95 and follow above directions "From the South."
By Rail
Baltimore Penn Amtrak Station is located east of the campus on Charles Street. To get to Coppin State from Penn Station, take Charles Street north and turn left onto North Avenue. Follow North Avenue approximately three miles, and campus will be on the right.
By Bus
Coppin State is located along a number of major bus routes, including No.'s 91, 19, 13, 22 and 51.
By Metro
The Metro (subway) line stops at Mondawmin Mall, which is located on Gwynns Falls Parkway just north of the university, within walking distance.
