Sophomore Taariq Cephas scored a career-high 27 points, but Bethune-Cookman withstood a furious Coppin State rally to edge the Eagles 89-78 on Tuesday in the opening round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament at the Norfolk Scope Arena.
Cole Named to MEAC All-Rookie Team...
Coppin State freshman Patrick Cole was named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team as selected by the league's head coaches and sports information directors and announced by the conference on Sunday.

Athlete of the week: David Hamlett Name: David Hamlett
Sport:Baseball
David Hamlett has been selected as the Coppin State Athlete of the Week following his performance at the 2013 MEAC baseball tournament. Hamlett hit .400 during the Eagles four games and led Coppin State with seven runs batted in. He added two doubles and two triples and had a slugging percentage of .800 during the tournament. Hamlett drove in four runs in the Eagles victory over Bethune-Cookman in CSU's tournament opener and then added two more RBI in a 7-3 win over North Carolina A&T.
