Larry Tucker begins his seventh season as an assistant coach on the Coppin State staff.
Coach Tucker is involved in all facets of the Eagle basketball program from recruiting to on-court teaching.
No stranger to the Eagle basketball program, Tucker starred for Coppin State from 1999–2003.
As a senior Tucker served as team captain and was the Eagles’ leading scorer (15.3 ppg) and rebounder (5.6 rpg). He started all 28 games, reaching double figures in scoring 22 times, and tallied 20-points or more in eight games.
A native of Baltimore and a product of local power Dunbar High School, Tucker graduated from Coppin State with a bachelor’s degree in management science in 2002.
He ended his career with 1,449 points and 622 rebounds, which rank fourth and fifth, respectively, on the Coppin State charts.
As a senior at Dunbar, Tucker played on a team that finished the season 25-3 and won the Class 2A state title. He scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Poets victory.
