Florida A&M Completes Sweep of Coppin State

April 26, 2009
BALTIMORE -- After winning a pair of tightly-contested games on Saturday, Florida A&M erupted for 16 hits on its way to an 18-2 victory over Coppin State to complete a three-game sweep of their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference series on Sunday at Joe Cannon Stadium.

Game three of the series was in stark contrast to the two games on Saturday, which saw the Rattlers post a one-run and a two-run victory in the doubleheader.

Darryl Evans, Derrick Shaw and Tobi Adeyemi each drove in three runs for the Rattlers, while Shaw held the Eagles to five hits and two runs over seven innings.

Chris Caudillo continued to swing a hot bat for the Eagles as he recorded a pair of hits and Elgin Thomas and Eddie Hayden picked up RBI's for Coppin State.

Florida A&M scored in all seven innings highlighted by four-run second and fifth innings.

Coppin State will conclude its season next weekend at North Carolina A&T in a three-game series.
