Men's Tennis - Head Coach

Diwani Lewis enters his third season as the head coach of the Coppin State men's and women's tennis programs.

Under the direction of Lewis, the men's program made significant strides in 2012. The Eagles finished the season with a 6-10 overall record and advanced to the MEAC Tournament for the first time since the 2005 season.

Lewis is no stranger to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference having served as the assistant coach at Morgan State for the past five years.

During his tenure he helped lead both the men's and women's teams at Morgan State to the MEAC Tournament all five seasons in which he coached.

Lewis also stands as one of the top players in his native country of Guyana. He was the No. 1 ranked player in men's juniors doubles and mixed doubles from 1997-2000.

He also spent five years working at the Bill Adams International Tennis Academy in Weston, Fla., where he provided instruction to juniors between the ages of 7-19.

Lewis earned a bachelor of science and psychology degree from Morgan State in the spring of 2010.
