AASC Philosophy
To provide the support services necessary to facilitate the graduation of all student-athletes, to provide direction for Coppin State student-athletes in academic advising in conjunction with advisors in the respective Dean's offices and to provide study table monitoring, career planning, eligibility, life skills and a host of other advice oriented services.
Student-Athlete Advising
Each team is assigned a member of the AASC counseling staff to meet with throughout their tenure at Coppin State University. In addition, each student-athlete has an academic advisor within their declared major department. The AASC academic counselors act as a secondary support network that coordinate and implement transitional and developmental programs to address the unique academic and career development needs of student-athletes. In cooperation with the Office of Compliance, the AASC advisors help to assure that NCAA, MEAC and University rules and regulations are followed.
