Lewis, Amoah Qualify for NCAA Quarterfinals in 110m Hurdles and 200m Dash

TAMPA, Fla. – Coppin State's Aaron Lewis and Joseph Amoah qualified for Saturday's NCAA Quarterfinal in the 110m hurdles and 200m dash, respectively, in the First Round of the NCAA East Prelims on Friday afternoon.
 
A sophomore from Scarborough, Trinidad & Tobago, Lewis won his heat in a school-record 13.64 to qualify for Saturday's quarterfinal.  The mark was the fourth-fastest time of any competitor on the day and bests his previous school-record by .21.
 
Lewis's quarterfinal run is set for 1:35 pm on Saturday, May 26.
 
Amoah took second in his heat and ran the eighth-fastest time of the day in 200m dash with a time of 20.38.  The sophomore from Greater Accra, Ghana, also set a school-record with his time.
 
Amoah will run in the quarterfinal in the event at 2:05 pm on Saturday, May 26.
 
Earlier in the day, Amoah clocked a 10.22 in the quarterfinal of the 100m dash to take 13th overall.  Amoah's mark missed qualifying for next week's National Championship by .003.
 
Amoah and Lewis will make up half of the 4x100m Relay team which will also run on Saturday, May 26 at 12:30 pm.
