BALTIMORE, Md. – Randi Bohler won a pair of events,
Tre'J Johnson and
Savannah Forte took a pair of field events, and the 4x100m Relay was also victorious as the Coppin State women's track & field team took fifth overall at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational on Friday afternoon.
The Eagles finished just behind the host Blue Jays, Towson, co-host Greyhounds and Bloomsburg.
Bohler took the gold in the 100m hurdles in a time of 15.48 and also leaped 18' 5.0" in the long jump to take the event. Johnson finished just behind Bohler in the long jump in 17' 11.0" while taking the triple jump crown in 38' 4.0".
In the pole vault, Forte set a school-record, taking the event by clearing 11' 1.75".
In other field events,
Alanna Newby finished fourth in the shot put (38' 2.0") and just missed out on scoring in the discus with a ninth place finish (109' 3.0").
Aidan Alston also scored in the javelin with a throw of 108' 2.0" to take sixth.
On the track, the relay team of
Astahia Wells,
Eriell Wallace,
Erykah Jerome and
Ramata Fofana won in a time of 49.27.
Jasmine Henery earned a point with an eight place finish in the 400m hurdles (1:08.24).
Notable times were also turned in by
Tatiana Ogundeko in the 800m (2:22.63) and
Lunnise Gibson in the 1500m (5:23.58).
CSU returns to the track on Saturday, April 14 at the Towson Invitational.
