PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Coppin State men's 4x200m Relay set a school-record, clocking a 1:24.08 to finish fifth in the Championship of America Invitational at the historic Penn Relays on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Field. The quartet of
Joseph Amoah,
Keshaun Hodges,
Martin Owusu-Antwi and
Babadeji Balogun edged LIU Brooklyn (1:24.15) while Boston University was just ahead of the Eagles in 1:23.99. Middle Tennessee was victorious in the event with a time of 1:22.91, followed by Jamaica's MICO and G.C. Foster.
An hour prior, Hodges, Amoah, Owusu-Antwi and
Aaron Lewis took sixth out of Lane 1 in the Championship of America 4x100m Relay in 40.28, finishing just short of Troy (40.25) and ahead of Penn State (40.93). Houston took the event with a time of 38.95.
Coppin returns to the track for the MEAC Championships on May 3-5 in Greensboro, N.C.
