Men’s Track & Field Places Third Overall at Towson Invitational

TOWSON, Md. – The Coppin State men's track & field team took third overall at the Towson Invitational held at Johnny Unitas Stadium on Saturday.  The Eagles finished just behind Morgan State and Christopher Newport in the point standings.
 
Aaron Lewis collected the only event title for CSU on the day with a 14.07 effort in the 110m hurdles.  Lewis also competed in the 400m hurdles and clocked a 58.28.
 
Coppin had three athletes place in the top four of the 100m Dash as well.  Keshaun Hodges took second in the event in 10.64, followed by Devin Teagle in third (10.85) and Babadeji Balogun in fourth (10.89).  Hodges and Balgun also took second and fourth, respectively, in the 200m Dash in times of 21.39 and 21.88.
 
Balogun and Teagle also led off the 4x100m Relay which took third in 41.87.  The duo was followed by Justin Turner and Elijah Noel.
 
In Middle Distance Events, Anija Addison took second in in the 800m Dash in 1:56.01 while Mark London finished fourth in the 1500m (4:06.16).
 
Track events were rounded out by the 4x400m Relay and the Eagles' team of Addison, London, Teagle and Nku Henry took sixth in 3:22.24.
 
Forrest Miller and Damon Rodwell placed in their respective field events, the high jump and long jump.  Miller cleared 5' 10.75" to take sixth place while Rodwell's leap of 21' 1.25" was 8th overall. 
 
Balvin Richards just missed out on scoring in both the shot put (10th – 39' 7.0") and discus (9th – 137' 6").
 
CSU returns to the track on April 26-28 at the historic Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
