Lewis Part of Trio of School-Records at Pepsi Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Aaron Lewis was a part of three school-records as the Coppin State men's track team sent a select group of individuals to compete at the Florida Relays over the weekend.  Several other Eagles also put up solid performances at the Navy Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
 
A sophomore from Trinidad & Tobago, Lewis broke his own school-record in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.05 to finish 12th overall and 8th among collegians out of 63 runners.  Lewis ran a wind-aided 14.15 last weekend in South Carolina which broke his previous best of 14.31 last spring.
 
Lewis was also a part of two-record breaking relay teams as the 4x100m Relay took 8th overall and fourth among NCAA teams in 39.73.  The 4x200 Relay was 5th overall and second to the host Gators among collegiate teams in 1:24.39.  The 4x100 Relay consisted of Lewis, Keshaun Hodges, Joseph Amoah and Martin Owusu-Antwi.  In the 4x200 Relay, Hodges was replaced by Devin Teagle.
 
Owusu-Antwi ran a personal best 47.45 in the 400m Dash to take 20th overall and he was followed in the event by Anija Addison (49.11) and Mark London (50.50).  London also finished the 800m Run in 1:53.69.
 
Hodges led the Eagles in the 200m Dash in 21.26, just besting Amoah's 21.29.
 
At the Navy Invite, Babadeji Balogun led the Eagles with a 10.96 and 21.88 in the 100m and 200m, respectively.  His performance in the 200m was second overall.
 
In the long jump, Elijah Noel finished second overall with a leap of 22-2.50.  
 
Balvin Richards also competed in the shot put (43-11.75) and discus (124-3).
 
Coppin returns to the track on Saturday, April 7 at the Colonial Relays hosted by George Mason University.
