Deacon Takes Silver in Weight Throw at Penn State National Open

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Kristen Deacon took silver in the weight throw at the Penn State National Open on Friday night with a toss of 17.62m (57' 9.75").  Deacon took second to Briyah Brown, a senior from Army West Point who threw an 18.16m (59' 7.0").  Deacon and Brown's first attempt of the night was their best toss.
 
The second day of the Open will start on Saturday at 11:20 am.
